GRIZZCAST

GrizzCast Returns
New Season. New Urgency.

Introducing GrizzCast Dispatches, a timely new series delivering real-time updates and powerful conversations about grizzly bear conservation, Indigenous leadership, and the shifting landscapes we all share.

The first Dispatch follows the developing story of “Tex,” a young grizzly who made headlines after swimming to Texada Island, British Columbia. With his future uncertain, Indigenous leaders, conservationists, and provincial officials have come together to find a path forward. It's a powerful example of what coexistence can look like — and why it matters now more than ever.

Want to help bring these stories to life?

Welcome to GrizzCast — the Grizzly Bear Foundation’s flagship podcast exploring the complex relationship between people and grizzly bears. After a powerful first season, Season 2 dives deeper into the challenges of coexistence, the climate crisis, and Indigenous-led conservation.

This summer, GrizzCast returns with even more urgency, clarity, and heart. In addition to our full-length feature episodes, we’re launching GrizzCast Dispatches — short, news-style episodes that bring you closer to the action as it unfolds. These 10–20 minute stories dive into high-stakes conservation efforts, Indigenous-led solutions, and the evolving challenges facing grizzly bears across North America.

What’S COMING IN SEASON 2

This season, we’ve recorded some of the most powerful stories yet — from bear biologists and Indigenous leaders to activists and artists redefining conservation. These conversations are timely, urgent, and deeply human.

But to bring them to your ears, we need your help.

We’re seeking supporters and partners to help us produce these feature episodes. Until then, they remain in the vault — ready to be shared when the time (and funding) is right.

  • A preview of the stories ahead — and why the fight to protect grizzlies is more urgent than ever.

  • How Indigenous leadership ended the grizzly trophy hunt — and sparked a new era of conservation.

  • Explore the tension between wildness and human influence — and what our choices say about our relationship with nature.

  • From backyards to forests: how communities are building peace with bears, one tool and one lesson at a time.

  • What decades of environmental advocacy have taught — and what we still need to learn.

  • Why wildlife connectivity is key to survival — for grizzlies and for us.

  • What does it take to give orphaned grizzly cubs a second chance?

Whether it’s a 20-minute Dispatch or a cinematic feature, GrizzCast is where critical stories are shared — and where listeners become part of the solution.
